Outside of the Federal Mediation Process that both the legacy Express Jet and legacy ASA are involved in, the Teamster leadership agreed to a meeting with a combined negotiating committee to explore how progress could be made on a joint collective bargaining agreement.
The talks took place in Atlanta, on September 15th through the 17th, 2015.
The talks centered on using the current Express Jet Agreement as the template. At least ten separate sections were discussed. Tentative Agreements were initialed on three. Four more are close to agreement and four more were discussed separately by each side to see if consensus was close.
The T/A sections are:
Section 2 Definitions
Section 19 Union Security and Representation
Section 20 Grievance Procedure
Although we had hoped for more progress, there was no breakdown on any specific issue.
The parties will set up future dates and location to resume talks.
